A ROUGH EXPERIENCE.

SCHOONER LOUISE AT SAMOA, A few days ago in the Samoa Group the Louise, a trading schooner, which has previously visited Auckland, had a very tough tussle with the elements in a strong gale. She had left Apia harbour for Tutuila when a gale came on with hurricane force, and those on board gave themselves up for lost. When the first squall struck her it blew the main sheet and rigging clean out of her. There wore only three people on board of her, and they double-reefed the staysail, dropped an anchor overboard about four fathoms, lashed the wheel, and let her go. The next morning they found she had driven about 80 miles to the east end of Tutuila. After considerable battling with the waves she managed to reach the harbour of Leone in safety.
