WAITOA ROAD BOARD.
[From our own Correspondent.] The adjourned monthly meeting of the Wnitoa Road Board took place in the Nottingham Castle Hotel, Morrinsville, last Saturday. Present:—Messrs W. P. Cliepmell (in the chair), J. Hurrell, and J. Turnbull. Among the correspondence was a copy of memo, sent to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland, ra taking road through a block of Crown land adjoining Hangawera. Copy of letter sent to the Chief Surveyor, Auckland, regarding the survey of the proposed road leading to the Native Settlement on the Piako river, A memo, from the Chief Surveyor in reply, in which he says he lias no hope of having a surveyor free to do the survey for some months to come. Letter received from Mr C. J. Storey re repairs required on the Maungakawa road. Letter received from Mr 11. D. Johnson re encroachment on Taylor’s road with fence. Letter received from Mr R. Holene asking permission to put a gate on road. Memo, received from the Secretary to the Treasury asking payment of £SO 2s 3d, being half year’s interest on the Board’s debt inscribed at the Treasury. Copy of memo, sent to the Secretary to the Treasury reporting payment of interest as above, along with Bank receipt. Letter received from Mr T. Kennedy requesting to have his name put on the Valuation [toll of the VVaitoa Hoad District as occupier of Section 2, Block XI, Te Arolin. The Board intends ns soon as possible to start the survey of the road leading to the Piako Native Settlement, but before doing so the Clerk was instructed to write to the Ohinemuri County Council re that part of the road which will he within the Oliinemuri County. As booh as the survey lias been completed the Board intends to Etart forming the road, etc. Accounts amounting to £94 lOs were passed for peyment.
