The prospectus of the Australasian New Hebrides Company has been published in the Australian papers. It sets forth the desirabi ity of cto-ely associating Australia with that splendid and ferbile group of islands. The Company was formed about a year ago, has already acquired large tracts of land in the various islands of the group, and has also puichased the whole of the inte ests of Messrs Scott, Hendbrson and Co., who some years ago spent a large sum in acquiring and improving land throughout the group. The Government of New South VValce has subsidised an inter-island steam service, connecting with the fortnightly line between Sydney and Fiji, which brings the who e of the islands of the New Hebrides within a few days’ sail of Sydney. The New Hebrides Mission has also guaranteed the steamers of the A. I .S.N. Company (Limited) the whole of its trade and influence, which, combined with the efforts of the Australasian Company now formed, should do much bo withdraw the islands from any attempted foreign control;
