The directors' sixteenth annual report of the New Zealand Shipping Company to be submitted to a meeting on Tuesday next gives the balance-sheet as adopted at the London meeting on December 4th. It shows a profit for the past year, after providing for all charges and interest, of £19,907 10s 9d, to which is added £14,663 4a, transferred from insurance to profit and loss account appropriation as follows :—Depreciation in steamers and ships £54,890 108 2d ; depreciation in hulk.-s refi igeratoio, etc., £20,285 17a 5d ; provision tor loss on salo of Waikato and Wanganui, £9,615 8s 2d ; reduction of deficit, of £29,778 18s lid.
