Referring to the New Zealand Exhibition, the Melbourne " Argns," in an article yesterday morning, states it ia justified in regarding the history of the Dunedin Exhibition as a history of marvellous revival of trade and industry in New Zealand. It goes on to say that the colony has solved the great colonial problem by the simple discovery that there is no royal path to permanent prosperity, but the road must be cut out by labour and skill. For this reason, the "Argus " adds, the greater and more sincere should be the congratulations of Australia, In conclusion, it hopes that the Exhibition will be a success, and an index to permanent prosperity. The Wellington "Pose" states that four of the city loan companies have been victimised to the extent of £300 by a person using the name of the Revs. Fathers McNamaraard Kerrigan in negotiating promissory notes, all of which prove to be forgeries. It is stated that accompanying the application for each advance there was a letter, apparently signed by the endorsing clergyman, and recommending the applicant to the company's consideration. The offender is believed to have left the colony gome weeks ago.
