OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.
A special mpeting of the nhovo Conner' was held in the Council Chamber. Pnemn, on Wednesday lust. Present: Cr« Nicholls (chairman), Moore, Hobson, J>eaile, Corbett, and Quinn. Valuation Roll : A considerable m mbcr of alterations and additions were nude to the Valuation Roll, which was finally read and adopted. The specvil nveting then adjourned till aftey the- annual nieeiinr. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting Was held at noon, the same Councillors being present. CrKic«uls,theretirins:Cbainnan t vacated tht chair, and Mr N. K-snny (Oierk) presided. On, retiring, Cr Nicholls said he would take the oppoitunity of thanking the Council for the support tbey had accorded him during the term he held office. The business of the Council w-is now going on pleasantly ard unanimong'y. and he hoped would still continue to do so Cr Quinn mr ved a vote of thnntcs to Cr Nicholls for the nvinn^r in which he carried on the business of the Council during his term of office, <md in doing so said he wag sol ry they could not persuide Cr Nicholls to consent to bo re-elected , Cr Moore s'ennded the motion, which was carried unanimously. Cr Niehollß briefly replied, Cr Quinn then moved that Cr Moore be appointed Chairman far the ensuing twelve months. Cr Qninn said that Cr Moore being 1 one of the three oldest members of the Counci 1 , he would like to ppe him occupy the chair dm ing the ensuing twelve months Cr Nicholls seconded the motion, which, on boing put to the meeting, was declared earned unanimously. Cr Moore on taking the Chair, thinked the Council for the honour *hey had con . f erred on him in electing him Chairman, and said he hoped the Councillors would assist him as much fS possible, and heh'id no doubt they would get on well together. Cr X -bson congratulated Cr Mooro on bcenminer Chairmin, and atat^d on behalf , of Council, that they would give him all j the assistance they could, i Thames Hospital and Charitable Aid Board : Resolved on tl o motion of Cr Qninn, seconded by Cr Nicholls, that Crs Robson and Dentle be re-appointed members of the Hospital Board to represent the CVu i. il. This concluded the business of the annual meeting.
