The Rpecial meeting, commenced before the annual meeting, war thf»n resumed. Tenders for various Road Works : Before opening the tenders th.3 Chair man (Cr Moore) said ho thought that if a tenderer omitted to si<?n liis name to the bottom of his tender, and he wao present when the tenders were opened nnd wished to si.^n, he thought the Council should not declare tlie tender to be informal. Crs Corbett and Quinn spoke very strongly against rucli a pinpnsnl, and said if a man was only a little behind another, and he wai thr» lowest, he would claim the tender ; but if any tenderer flaw he had made a mistake, and was likely to lose, by it, ho would not claim the tender, and it would be a bid oourse to adopt;. A large amount of correspondence was held ever for the ordinary meeting on Dec, 7th. Thid wan all the business.
