CONCERT AND DANCE.
This concert and dunco, in aH of tho funds of St. Joseph's Church, .cfti»e off in To Aroha Public Hall last evening. The Hall was most tnptefqlly decorated fan the occasion by Mr P. Fa.es and others 5 with miniature coloured flags, beautiful wreathes of flowers, etc., and lit up with Chinese lanterns, tho general effoct being most pleasing. The Te Aroha Brass Hand played a number of selections outside the Hall prior to the commencement of $ie concert. There was a.n excellent attendance, the Hall being comfortably filled. The Roy Thos. Kehoe presided \ and the follow ing programme was most efficiently earned out : Overture, Piano, The Echo of J*ucerne, Misses M. Mainstay and Faes i song, Parcel's Post, Mr Gardiner; song, selected, Miss Y. Pavitt ; violin solo, The Cuckoo's Song, MissTilsley ; recitation, Chnrge of the Light Brigade, Mr Ebert { song, tying Back" my Fishei Boy, Miss Cocks ; song, Original, MrJ. Comes ; song, Leaf by Leaf the Roses Fade, Miss M. Lavery. Interval of ten minutes. Part 2nd : Pianoforte duet, Thy Voice is Near, Misses Rowe and Clarke ; medley duet (con. if), Y ei y Improper Indeed, Mr and Mis 3 Co, -Us ; song, There You An 1 , Mr Gardiner ; ao,ng, Selected, Mi?s Y. Favitt ; duct, violin and ii,ano, Napo'e m's Grand March, Misses Tilsley and G. Maineray ; song, Since Maggie Learnf to -k.itc, Miss Cocks;, recitation, Socrates Snooks. Mr Ebert. The via'in solo by Miss Tilsley, and duet, tiolin and piano, by th« sameyoung laiiiy and Miss G. Ma'ngny (pan )). were much admirpd ; indeed all who took part acqui led themselves fatis r act >rily. and Vie c n *ort a very enjoyable erne. At the close of fie concert the Chairman returned hearty thanks on behalf of the Church 1o (1) the audience far thoir attendance in such Urge numbers ; C 2) the Te Aroha Brass Band ; and (3) the ladies and gentlemen who had so k'nUy assistjil } this part of the j rocedincrs concludintr by the company sini'Mg on? verse < f the National Anthpm. The Hall was then speedily cleared for danoinor, which was kept up with great spirit till nearly daybreak; th,e music being supplied by Me^sus Chns. and Alf Evcritt (p'ano an 1 violin).
