LATER FROM WHANGAREI. ERROR IN THE RETURN. THE YIELD VERY SATISFACTORY. Whangardh, Nov. 23.
The " Advocate " has issued two extras, giving the latest news ?e the Puhipuhi trial crushing. It says: — '-]SIrC. Easterbrook Smith leturned from Waiorongotnai, ria Auckland, this morning, and reports result of the crush ing, which reached him last; nieht. His previous cypher message wiving 7640zs bullion * had been erroneously interpreted, the actual figures having been inadvertently multiplied. Final product of crushing is nearly all pure silver, and mining: experts at "VYaiorongotnai who saw the stuff declare that Puhipuhi will be the best mining distiict in the colony." A meeting of the .Prospectors' Association is now going on. The " Advocate " second extra gives the official returns of the crushing at Waiorongomai as 2740z of silver and 13dwt cold per ton. An assay from another reef made at the same time yields double the above return. PROSPECTORS' ASSOCIATION MEETING.
