One shift has been engaged extending the drive westward on the hangingwu.il leader a distance of 10 feet. Tho whole of thib drive is now timbered up and passes put in. 1 find the leader in this drivo la not tho ono carrying; gold in theriso, it is in thchangingwall ot the ono we were; caking in the drive. I -shall have to drivo a lew teot to the left to out it. J have carried along twe otopos a distance of 25 feet fiom the rise, and in breaking dmvn the loader lobr.aiutcl4 loads (.mart/- and 16Ub picked btone. Tho loader avoru^ess 7 or 8 inches, and is iookj ing well and gold still showing. This leader i.-> intact to tho surface a distance of 240 tewb. When 1 get up about 50 ieel from tue level, I will diive a cros^cat a distance ol about 30 teot on tho main break to cut the main lecf whore i secured the few pounds of picked stone, as J hardly consider the aii shalt s>»fo to send tho quartz down. The total quartz on hand is 10 loads .56 Ub picked stone.
