To Aroha S. and G. M. Co. : Smeltins: by tbe wet jacket furnace still continues to progress most satisfactorily, the furnace worldlier admirably. The supply of ore ready for smelting is he\rm rapidly reduced, and the piesent run of the furnace will probably be finished to-uifflifc or Snntlay A general clean up will then take place, and a final run (tor some little time) of the smelter take place, lasting probably only a day or two. The Kenilwoith ore has arrived from Karangahake, and been carted out to the furnace. The revcrbcratory furnace is now stopped, all the ore and concentrates awaiting treatment having been 'matted.' A portion of the bullion will be shipped Home at an early date from Auckland. Only fifty tons will be sent by the first vessel (sailing direct for London from Auckland), the Company only being able to secure space for that quantity. Some of the bullion, about twenty tons, will be shipped for Auckland by the first river steamer, and is now being carted to Te Aroha for that purpose, Twenty head of stampers are kept stoidily at work ou ore from the New Find portion of the Company's property.
