It will interest local iurrites to know that the galloway Signess, about whose height continual bickering took place in Auckland ' from time to time, has passed the 14.2 standard in Sydney. Signess, with 9st7lb in sad He. was among the starters for the Carlton Handicap at the Moorrield Pony Meeting on the 9th inst. His price at the post was 7 to 1, but he did not gain a place. Laing, his rider, was fined £5 for disobedience to the starter.
