Town Board.
The ordinary monthly meeting of Te Aroha Town Board was held on Salurtlay evening last. Ptenent : Messrs Ghxllagher( chairman ),Heathcote,Lipsey, and Mills. Minutes of the last monthly meeting, also of special meeting held October 28th, were re arl ami confirmed. There was no correspondence. Resolved that in future all carting required by the Board be lot by tender at per yard. Main Road : On the motion of Mr Lipsey, seconded by Mr Heathcoto, The Clerk was instructed to write to Pinko County Council, requesting them to relieve the Board of the cost and main tfiinance of the main Te Aroha-Waio-romjomai road within the Town District, and stating that the ratepayers here are alroady paying a rate for same. The Clerk stated that after paying the accounts presented at that meeting: there would be a balance in the Bank New Zealand of a little over £4. Mr Mills askod the Chnirman if it ; was not time to give notice of motion for the striking of a Town Board rata, seeing the Board wero nearly out of funds. The Chnirman snid he did not think it was nncessnry to take any steps in that direction at that meeting, and thoui»ht it would bo better to let the matter stand over for a future meeting. Mr Mill* anil Cr Murphy would give notice of motion »t Piako County Conncil meeting at Cambridge that day : That the Council again take over the control and niaintninance of the main road within the Town District. Accounts : The following accounts were passed for payment: — \V. Hetherington (carting), £5 ; R. Maeiue (cirting) 10s ; R. Michael (five day's work at 7s), £1 15*. This wa9 all the bu-.ine^s.
