THE DUNEDIN EXHIBITION. Dunedin, September 21.

Visitoes to Dunedin are greatly surprised at the enormous area which the New Zea land and South Seas Exhibition buildings cover. The applications for space have been so unexpectedly numerous that the gardens have had to be very considerably dwarfed and now the verandahs round the gardens have had to 'bo enclosed in at the approaches to the Exhibition. Immense hoardings have, been erected and these are being extensively utilised for advertising purposes, much to the disgust of the newspaper proprietors. The Exhibition buildings and land* cover twelve and a-half acres, so that with the exception of the Victorian Centennial Exhibition, this will be the largest exhibition yet held in Australasia. The catering has been entrusted to Mr J, Pells, who tendered at £1,205. The Ceremonial Committee have arranged for Saturday popular concerts right through the Exhibition perio.d, and a number of entertainments will be got up locally. The following, professionals have been engaged : — Frank Lincoln, American humorist, from December 2nd to December 17th ; Maccabe, from January 13th to January 17th ; Processor Kennedy, the mesmerist, January 20th to January 29th. The Exhibition opens on November 26th, and closes on April 12th. It is expected that the Ministry will be represented at the opening ceremony by the Premier, Minister for Justice and Native Minister, while fully fifteen members of Parliament have already signified their intention of putting in an appearance. The buildings are now completely roofed in, the weather having proved most propitious. Indeed, the fall of rain since this work was begun lias been phenomenally plight. At the Ocean Beach the \ ice-regal residence is being pushed on vigorously, and the Grand Pacific Hotel is already assuming quite, a. gay appearance.
