Messks A. Auckland & Sons' Weekly Report.— During the past wcelc loose hay has kept its value. Pi ices have ranged from 2s to 3& 9d the cwt ; chaff, £4 the ton ; maize, 2s 8d ; barley, 2s 9d ; wheat. 3s to 3s 3d ; oats, 2s lOd to Zi Id the bushel ; potatoes, £3 15s to £4 10s ; bonedust, £6 10s to £7 7s 6d the ton. On Friday, unbroken draught horses brought from £8 5s to £16 each : the entire Trafalgar, £20 ; medium draught, £6 to £8 each. At the hide and skin sale, on Tuesday, calfskins ranged from 3Jd to 4gd : ox hides, 3d to 3gd ; cow hides, 2d to 2^d the lb ; bones, 4s 6d ; tallow. 16s 9d to 17s 9d the cwt ; butchers' sheepskins, 4s to 6s 3d ; lambs', 7d to lOd each. Country cattle sales, held respectively at Ppkeno and Drury. were better supplied with young store cattle than of late, and there was a steady demand, but with no improvement in valueß. At Romuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were dull of sale. Cows at calving ranged from £2 to £4, For the store cattle bidding was alow, but late values were fairly sustained. Three to four-year steers ranged from £2 15s to £3 17s 6d ; two to three-year-old steers, £2 5s to £2 10s ; weaned calves, 15s ; speycd cows, 36s to 455. Fat cattle better worth ; no steers of good quality under 18s the 1001b. Fat calves plentiful, but sold well. Fat sheep &hort of requirements, and advanced Ad the lb, fat sheep being steady at 3^d the lb. Well-fatted lan bs brought from 11s to 13s ; inferior, 4s to 7s each. Pigs were of good quality, and shared in the general advance n prices. ' Messrs Arthur and Buddles Weekly Report.—There have been six sales by auction this week. Monday: Pawnbroker's sale at the mart ; unredeemed pledges, gold and silver watches, jewellery, clothing, etc., from MrJ. Rae, pawnbioker, Elliotts Dreet. The attendance was large throughout he whole of the sale, which continued for over seven hours ; the clothing, etc., sold well, but the watches and jewellery brought low prices. Tuesday : Poultry, produce, fruit, etc., at mart ; a fair attendance, but only a demand for certain lines ; those, brought good price.3. Wednesday : Hobart apples and Sydney oranges, at the mart; the trade was well represented ; smart competition and good prices were obtained. The apples were not in first-class order. They brought from 7s 6d to 14s per case ; oranges, from 7s 9d to 8s per case. Wednesday, household furniture and effects, at the mart. There was a good attendance, and a fair amount of business done at satisfactory prices. Thursday : Clothing, tweeds, drapery, etc. at the mart. But few lines could be cleared. Friday: Poultry, pigs, produce, fruit, groceries, etc.. at the mart. A fair amount of business done at late prices. The supply of produce generally not so great as usual, no doubt ovying to the very broken state of the weather in the early morning. No first-class table potatoes for Friday's sale f there was a good demand. A con?iderable quantity of seed potatoes on hand, the sale for which has slackenod off; low prices will have to be taken to dear consignments. Good cheese is much wanted. Honey all cleared out. The weather also affected the supply of poultry, etc. ; very few fowls or turkeys were entered ; a better supply of ducks, but few geese ; the prices realised were good . Not a large number of piga brought in ; ihese were good, and sold well. No guinea fowls or pea fowls entered; there is an inquiry for boih. There has been an improved inquiry after properties, but buyers are wanting too great, reduction. A property on the Great North Road, with two dwelling-houses on it, has been sold this week for £750. The following are the highest and lowest prices for the week, viz :— Ordinary fowls, Is 4d to 2s ; turkeys, 3s 3d to 4s 3d ; ducks, Is 6d to 2s Id ; geese. 3s lOd ; pigeons. Is to Is 3d ; canaries, Is 6d to £s ; cockatoes, 2s to 6s ; pigs, 5s 3d to 10s 6d.
