After the match both teams repaired to Mr James Walsh's large boarding house, where an excellent •spread' had been prepared. After ample justice had been done to the good things provided, complimentary speeches were made by Mr O'Keefe, Mr Cahill, and several others ; songs also were given, and a little dancing completed the evening^ amusement. A Wonderful Egg : Quite a sensation has been caused here by the discovery of a very remarkable egg. Mrs Forsman, the lady who posseP3es the Kara , ovum, informs me that on Friday morn - ing last she proceeded to the fowl-house .as usual to gather the eggs. This was at about G 30 a.m., but not finding any she re-visited the house about 9.30, and noticing a black hen. on the nest, whose eggs she was anxious to keep for setting, raised the bird, and taking the pgg placed it in her pocket, remarking to herself that as it appeared to be very rough it would not do for setting, she then handed the egg to her daughter, who immediately noticed something peculiar about it, drew her mother's attention, and, on examination, the 'following lines" were plainly disernable in raised letters : 'Minste to the gordon and be not afraid for in a short time your fortune is made," and on the reverse side " hens proficy." Tho ortho-graphical proclivities of the waiter of these lines have evidently been much neglected. Mr and Mrs Foreman are much impressed by the advent of this' egg, and are determined to take the advice of the writer. Mr Foisnian is having 1 the cart fixed tip, and to-morrow morning a start will he made for the Gordon. Numbers of people have, during thi.s last three days, visited Mr Foreman's house to a view of the egg, and declare it to be quite " egg centric,"
