DEATH FROM DRINKOamaru, August 5.

An inqueab was held here on Saturday morning on the body of Hannah Crawley, an old settler, aged about 65, who died somewhat suddenly on Friday. Deceased, who was of rather intemperate habits, sold some property in Dunedin a few weeks ago and received' £150 in cash. She made a present to her son of £20, but no tiace of the balance of the money can be discovered. The fact of her having money attracted the usual parasites, and it is presumed deceased was eased of her cash. The evidence discloses that the woman was found lying on the floor of the room she occupied in a semiineensible state. The verdict of the jury was, " Death through excessive drinking."
