PROCEDURE RULES.
Replying to Dr. Newman yesterday, the Premier declaied that he had not made up his mind at to the advisability of introducing new procedure rules this session. The Government had soriously thought of moving in that direction at tho beginning of tho session, but members had shown such a desire to get on with business that they had refrained from interfering with the rules of the House. He was of opinion that if the House would meet at two instead of half-past, and sit to half-past five as now and lessen the two hours' adjournment by half-an-hour, meeting again at seven o'clock and rising at eleven instead of haif-past ten, there would be no necessity for late sittings. Tho suggestion drew forth expressions of satisfaction from members, and it will probably be given eHect to.
