POINT RESOLUTION INQUIRY.
* When the evidence in the Poino Resolution inquiry was laid on the table yesterday, Sir George Gi*ey moved to ha-se it printed in a long speech, lie challenged the deductions made by the Commissioneis, and un^ed that the Attorney-General should take the question into the law courts. Mr Milchelson replied, pointing out that no good could be done by this, and the cost (£77) would be thrown away. Major Atkinson spoke to the same effect, and on adivision being taken the motion was lost by 43 to 17. Sir Geo. Grey and Messrs? Moss and Taiwhanga were thconlyAuckland members who voted tor bhemotion, Messrsllobbs, Jackson, Lawry, Mitchelson, Moafc, Monk, Whyto and \\ ithy being against it, the others not voting. Sir George Grey since then hab criven notice to move for the House to instruct the Attorney-General to take legal action to test the legality of the transaction.
