CHIT-CHAT.
Jusb at pi'esenfc tinners are vory quie^ here, but when the House meets again today we can expect to liavo things pretty warm ono way and another for tho lost of the week. So far, the Opposition have made no further move beyond what I have already telegraphed, but it is probable that now Mr Ballance has accepted tho leadership, the party will become properly organised. This will in one sense greatly facilitate business, but on important questions they arc likoly to prove a natty thorn in the side of the Government. It is intended to go into Committee of Supply to-morrow as soon as. the oidinary business is concluded, and it the Estimates continue to be dealt with as quickly as last week they will not be long in getting through. There will probably be a big block over the defence estimates when tho Te Koobi campaign will come up tor discussion, and a -warm roasting is expected for the Minister. July 3.
