Karangahake, Monday. Crown G. M. Co : Good progress is being made with the different works in this Company's mine, the winze to connect Nos. 2 and 3 levels is down a depth of forty feet since the contractors started work, and the drive on the reef at No. 3 level is in a distance of sixty feet. The connections between the mine and the battery are nearly all completed, bub owing to the weather, it will ba sometime before the CasseJ Gold Extracting Company are in readiness to treat the

ore. Kenihvorth : Shepherd's Tribute : In this section a low level is being put in to connect with the bottom of winz>% where the rich ore was taken from and shipped

to London a few weeks ago. Moore's Tribute : This party are still on feood stone, worth from £20 to £30 per ton. Woodstock : A tribute has been let in this Company's mine to Mr C. S. Brown, the sectioa let is between the Woodstock and Maria lodes (on a reef that has never been worke-J before). Tenders were called for the other two sections, but I have not heard whether

they are let or not. Ivanhoe and Truro : Tbe proprietors of this mine are keeping their battery going night and-day on quartz from their own mine. White and party (tiibuters), are sinking a winze to connect with No. 2 level. They are on payable rock. The Karangahake experimental plant is expected to be in working order in a day or two. I hope it will answer when it is finished.
