London, May 30. The English Government has givon instructions to increase the strength of the squadron in Behring Straits, to protect British sealers from seizure by American cruisers. The United States has also reinforced its squadron.
New York, May 30. The " New York World " states that the Sanioan difficulty will be settled on the basis of restoring the status quo existing at the time Malietoa was deported., and the payment of a nominal indemnity. German and American advisers will be appointed, with an English umpire, and three coaling stations will be formed on the islands.
San Francisco, May 28. Three American men-of-war have been sonb to control the entrance to Behring Straits.
Ottawa, May 30. There is great excitement in British Columbia owing to the decision of the English Govornmenb to protect the seal fisheries in northern waters ajjainst American aggression. Torpedo boats are being fitted out to protect the harbour of Victoria.
