Chicago, May 31. It is reported at Chicago that Alexander and Sullivan, who are implicated in the murder of Dr. Cronin, persuaded Egan to grant the sum of 100,000 dollars to prevent secessions from the Clan-na-Gael. Sullivan lodged 18,000 dollars in the Clan-na-Gael Treasury, and utilised the balance himself. Woodrufte, the waggoner, has confessed that the murderer of Cronin kept him waiting with his waggon until Cronin was killed. He then drove the body to an open sewer and deposited it there.

Chicago, June 2. Two boys have discovered trousers worn by Dr. Cronin buried in sand. Further search instituted by his wife resulted in his coat, shirt, and undershirt being found close to where the first discovery was made. A strange vest has also been unearthed, and this is believed to be the property of one of thee who took part in the murder.

" What is your employment ?" asked his Honor of a prisoner arraigned for vagrancy the other day. " Walking, sir." " Where do you walk ?" " Well, that is according to which way the policeman is coming from.'' The fashion of getting into debt seoms not to be so popular in some parts of Europe as in others. In any event, the subjects of Kinc Milan do not look as complacently upon his record in this respect as do the subjects of certain other monarchs, real , or prospective. The newspapers have been investigating Milan's financial affairs,' and have found tnat he owes the Bank of i Vienna 260,000 francs, the president of frhe the bank 80,000, the Pesth Bank 300,000, and has other debts which aggregate 910,000 francs, or about 182,000 dollars. Considering his opportunities, one may be pardoned for wondering that the royal debtor does not make a far worse showing than this.
