Ivanitne and Trnro : The proprietors (Cox and party ),of this mino are evidently satisfied with the result of the crushing? at their own battery, as they are about to erect another Mack ay pan, which was delivered at the works on Saturday. "Woodstock : Heitma'u and party are about to forward a parcel of 30 tons for treatment at the above plant, which is worked under the supervision of Mr J. McConibie, Kenilworth. — Shepherd's Tribute : [wo men have been employed for the last two weeks bailing out the winze, and securing the timbers. Mr Shepherd informs me that the leader in the bottom of the winze prospects good enough for 6 or 7 0555. per ton, ordinary battery treatment, and he intends to start sinking with two shifts, to prove the leader going down, before starting to put in a lower level. Imperial : In this mine a level is being driven to tap the winze sunk on No. 2 leader, from which some rich ore was got in sinking. About 12ft driving will bring it up to the winze. Crown G.M. Co.: In this Company's mine #oo 1 progress is being made with the different works on hand. The low level contractors have driven a distance of 75ft in three weeks ; they are- in pretty tight country now, and the progress is uecessarily slow. The intermediate crosscut is in splendid sandstone country, a.ml the contractors have almost completed their 100 feet. The framing for the machinery is nearly all on the ground, and thecaipenters have m ule a start to put it together. Tn the course of a month I expect to see some of the mills in position. Cassel Gold Extracting Co.: The contractor for the erection of this Company's plant has already made a big show with his fiaming. The excavating of the site is not progressing very rapiJly, the contractor havwig had to cover over the wat^r-Rce for a distance of 200 feet, to secure it from damage by boulders. The cottages are almost completed, and Mr Demster informs me that he exp *cts to be able to take possession of them by the end of next week.
