Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' Weekly Report.— At the Haymarket during the past week, fodder has been offered in usual quantity, and there has been no alteration in values. The new crop of grain is now coining forward, and prices are something lower.' The wholesale price of maize has been 3s 3d ; oats from Is lid to 2s 6d the bushel ; oaten chaff, 42s tho ton. At the horse sale on Friday, alihough no higher prices were obtained, there was steady bidding throughout the sale, showing a greatly.improved demand, prices -mostly ranged trom £4 to £6; those of a better class from £8 to £14 each. On Tuesday, hides advanced in price. Ox hides ransred from 3|d to sid ; cows from 2|d to 3Jd; calfskins, 4jd the lb. felts and skins were at late values, and ranged up to Is 9d each. Lambswool. 6id ; odd lota of wool trom 4d to 6 Jd the lb., At the country cattle sales, held at Pukekohe and Papakura, less than the usual numbers were brought forward, prices aro without change. At Remuera on Thij&day, dairy cows in full number sold froelyml. an advance ot 103 each over last week's market. Fat cattle, m full numbers, were at last week's values, from 10s for cows to 12s 6d the 1001b for good oxen. Sheep yarded plentifully. Heavy wethers scarcely at previous values, but ewes and inferior sheep kept their price. The two-tooth ewes advertised brought 9s 6d each ; wethers, from 11s 9d to 9s 6d ; ewec, 6s 6d to 9s each. The demand for gram has been bri-k, and a good deal has been disposed of, but the demand for chaff and seeds has been slack. We quote: Feed oats, 2g 8d to 3s 2d ; dun, 2s to 2s 6d ; maize, 3s 9d ; bran, £4 103 ; chaff, £2 10s. Horses There has been an increased number brought forward, and found purchasers at fully the previous week's values. Cattle" The number brought forward has not been large, and the demand has been steady, with little or no alteration in value. The Newmarket yards were well filled on Tuesday. Bidding was steady throughout the sale, biit prices remained unaltered. Some averages were Steers, £4, £4 8s 9d, £4 10s, £5 6s 6cl, £5 12s, £5 17s 6d ; cows, £3 6s Bd, £3 9s 6d, £3 10?, £3 17s Cd. Sheep : There was a good muster of sheep at Newmarket on Tues day. but there was an evident indisposition on the part of purchasers to give the previous week's prices, which consequently receded from 6d to Is per head. Lambs . But few yarded, and sold at from 6s 6d to 10s. Pigs : There was a large attendance of would-be buyers but an absence of swine, consequently there remains an unsatisfied inquiry. M&SSSS G. W. BINNEY AND SONS' REPORT.— The market for hides and sheepskins continues brisk, and we cleared a large catalogue on Tuesday last. Prime ox, 4' ( d to 5d : heavy stout. 4d to 4id; medium. 3d to 3!. d. Best cow, 24d to 2Jd ; medium, 2Jd to 2^d : heavy kip, 2}d ; light, 3d to s\d : call, 4d to4fd : damaged of all classes are dull of sale. Sheepskins : Demand brisk, and all cleared at good values. Best salted and sound dried, Is 6d to 2s each ; medium, Is to Is 4d; shearlings, 3d to 9d; lambs' large, Is 9d to 2s 6d ; medium. Is 2d to Is bd ; small, 6d to 9d ; well-woolled dry skins, up to 33 9d each. Lambswool. 6}d to 63d per lb. Tallow. 13s to 14s 6d per cvvt; rough fat, Id per lb. Bones, 4s 6d per cwt. Bonedusf Napier, £5 5s ; Sydney, £5 10s, ex store ; Melbourne, in c«t bags £6 10s. delivered Ngaruawahia or Auckland. Potatoes. Market dull ; sales from £3 7s 6d to £4 per Ton. Flour Atlas brand, full roiler, sacks, £12 ; 100's, £12 10s : 50 s, £12 15s per ton ; Gray and Aldrich, combined process, sacks, £11 10s ; 100's, £12 ; 50's, £12 5s per ton.
