Champion G. and S. Mines : — Work in connection with the various contracts, at pi esent under weisfh for this Company, are bi'ing satisfactorily pushed ahead. The contractor for the erection of the trestle work, etc., for the aerial tramway is making good progress with the work in hand, under the supervision of Mr Johnson, contractor for the tieiial tramway. Mr Come*, the Mine Manager, has pretty well recovered from the effects of his recent fall when riding ;and, although severely bruised thereby, has all along been able to attend to his duties. There is nothing fresh to report from any of the other mines at work in this portion of the gold field. Mararoa L. Hd. : The application by Alexander McLeod for the Marora (Mararoa?) licensed holding, Te Aroha, was granted by the Warden on Tuesday last.. The claim comprises twelve acres, and is bounded by the Biarlit Dell and Lord Wolseley licensed holdings,
