•The ordinary monthly meeting of the Te ArohaLibraryCommitteewas hold on Monday evening, 11th inst. Present — Messis F. Pavitt (chairman), Menzies (secretary), !Lawlor, and DeverilV Minutes of the previous meeting -were read and confirmed. Notice of Motion : The followingnotice of motion, tabled at the previous monthly meeting by Rev S. Lawry, was read :—: — 1. That Mr Collins 1 offer, to receive and distribute books for Waiorongomai subsen" bers be received with thanks. 2. That the Librarian be requested to take an early opportunity of canvassing for subscribers at Waiorongomai on the following conditions : — (a) Books to be selected at Mr Collins store from a full catalogue of the Library, each subscriber being provided with a card for the insertion of numbers : - (b) That books be forwarded to Mr Collins on Tuesdnys^Thursdaj's, and Suturdays: (c) That cards with catalogue pumbeis of books required be left with Mr-Gollin^; _at least seven days before the books^ai^ wanted. ._--"" 3. That cards suitably bended and ruled he prepared for the use of subsciibers, should a sufficientiiumber be found willing to become members. 4. That the Secretary ascertain on what terms the books could be conveyed to and from Waiorongomai on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, or other days, if so decided on. With respect thereto the Secretaiy read the following letter fiom Mr Lawry, dated Paeroa. March 9th. "I find that I shall not be able to be at home for the meeting of the Library Committee next Mor.day evening. With legard to the notice of motion standing in my name re extending operations to Waiorongnmai. I should be obliged if you would take charge of the motions and move them, and let the matter he decided. I thuik this is better than postponing conMderation, unless yon expect to have a meeting earlier than the next monthly meeting. However, having explained my ;«l» e encp, and eriven you authority to act fir me, I will leave the decision to you and ti.o others."
