The following: paiticulars re the endowment of the above school in this distnVr, ssre extracted from a pnrlinmentniy "Return of the Education Receives in each Provincial Distiict." Tlie Eeturn states that 17P0 acres 3 roods are leased as under. The balance (of the endowment, of 3,394 aciPP, Te Aroha Survey District, No. 12), 1613 acres 1 rood, is stated to have never been yet surveyed or leased, being rough, lnVj, and unfit i'oi agriculture. The Return i'nither states that " the reserve was estimated by Government to be worth £10,000, but that is a great deal more than it is worth," The nnmbeis before each section refer to the subdivisions of Survey District No. 12.
(Nos. 16 to 24, inclusive, are let for 21 yeare from Mny 10th, 1882). The estimated capital value of the above sections, 1.780 ac, 3r.,is set down in the Return at £7,000.
