WAIORONGOMAI. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Waiorongomai, Tuesday.

Waiorongomai School Committee : The usual monthly meeting of the above Committee was held in the Schoolroom last evening: Present — Messrs Baskett (chairinnn), Jennings, D. McL. W til luce, Baskiville, and Beeson. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, Correspondence : The Head Teacher reported a«t follows :—": — " I have io report that the roll number for the month was 99, and the average attendance 69.1. There has been a good deal of irregular attendance during this month, and I think the present would be a good time to take into consideration the question of offering prizes to those who attend best. I would suggest that prizes, say three to eacli standard, be offered, to be awarded at the end of the year ; making the attendance count from the time of offering the prizes. Four of the de^-ks are in urgent need of repairs. Two or three long benches are required for the use of the infants when taught in the porch." It was resol v ed that in view of the approaching* meeting of householders for the election of a new Committee, thnt the matter of offering prizes be defoirod. The Chairman was authorised to effect the necessary repairs ; also, to make application to the Board of Education for two new form". From Messrs Lennox and GoldiV, tendering their thanks to the Committee for supporting them in their candidature for seats on the Board of Education. Circular from the Board* of Education notifying thut£7 10s, capitation allowance, had been placed to the Committee's credit in 8.N.Z., Te Aroha. Fencing Repairs : Mr Orr not having fixed np the fence, as authorised at last meeting, it war proposed by Mr Ba^kiville, seconded by Mr Wallace : That the resolution carried at last meeting, authorising Mr Orr to effect repairs to fence be now rescinded, and that tho matter be left in the hands of the Chairman. — Carried. Annual Report : It was resolved that the annual report to be presented to householders be prepared and read at the next meeting. This was all the busineHs. Accident Relief Fund : Another meetins? in connection with this Fund was held in the Public Hall on Saturday evening lust, when tnere were a good number present. Mr John Somerville was voted to the Chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were rend and confirmed. The rules for the guidance of the Association were read seriatim, and with the exception of a few slight alterations, were generally adopted.
