The Katikati team. were awaiting tbe arrival of their Visitors/ whom they heartily welcomed, and an adjournment was at once made to Mr Barney MacDonneirs hotel, where an excellent lunch had been provided-; which having been done full justice to, all hands proceeded to the cricket ground. Waiorongomaiwon the toss, and electing togoto the.wicket, scored 44 in their first innings. Katikati in their first innings made 86 runs. In their second innings Waiorongomai scored 79, tbus leaving 38 for their opponents to obtain in order to win, which they accomplished with loss of only one wicket ; Katikati thus winning with nine wickets to' spare. The match was over about half-past six, 1 and three hearty cheers having been called' iofi were' heartily given for, the respective teams, and all again adjourned to Mr MacDonnell's, where a substantial tea, provided through the forethought and kindness of the Katikati club, awaited them. A very pleasant evening was spent, speeches, songs, etc., baing given by various members of the company, after which our local representatives returned home, having spent a very enjoyable day ; and they refer in high terms to the hospitable manner in "which they were entertained. We understand that the wicket at Katikati was very far from good, indeed, some of the Katikati team during the • course of tbe evening apologised for its being so rough. ~
