MINISTER OF MINES. DEPUTATIONS AT THAMES. Thames, December 17.
The Minister of Mints was deputationised j on Saturday upon various matten principally relating to roads and tracks, but comparatively little assistance was promised. It was urged that he should aesist in getting a vote towards the cost of laying down the 30 inch mains recently ordered from London, but he held out little hope of anything being obtained from Government for th« purpose. The Hon. Mr Richardson left here yestarday for Waihi, and was to return to Paeroa to-day via Karangahake, where he will be deputationised upon various matters by Ohinemuri County Council. He will leave for Te Aroha either this evening or tomorrow. . The only result from the Minister or > Minea' visit to the Thame* will probably be that a subsidy of £500 will b« obtained for expenditure ok the Whangftmat* Road,
