COLONIAL GOVERNORS. London, November 24.
It is understood that the Cabinet have agreed to allow Sir H. A. Blake to resign, but decline to disclose the name of his successor privately to the Queensland Government. It is thought that at a later period they may be willing to consider the opinions of the colonies as to the appointment of Governors. The rumour as to Lord Oarrington resigning the Governorship of Ne w South Wales next year is re-affirmed. " Truth " recommends Queensland not to vote the Governor's salary if Sir H. A. Blake is forced on tho colony against its will. The "Daily Chronicle" considers that the request of the colonies to have the names of Governors subnutted to them before appointments are made is a reasonable one. The colonies are entitled to the same consideration as foreign countries, which are always consulted before umbtissadors are appointed.
