This first series of wool .sales opened this afternoon, when 1,125 bales were offered. The Loan and Mercantile Agency Company , the Mortgage Agency Company, and *he Farmers' Co-operative Association sold. Half-bred wool fetched BAd to 9§d per 1b ; morinos, B^d to 9&d ; locks and pieces, 4£d to 6id.~ The highest price was 9£d, realised for first-class wool grown at Cherbey. Compefcition was spirited, and prices were a penny per pound better than last year's opening sales.
