The narao of either the sender or recipient of the cablegram is not stated. | At Waiorongomai work in connection with tho Te Aruha S. and G. M. Co'a extensive new plant is progressing satisfactorily. Fourteen "Fruc concentrators are now in position in tho old battery ; and the floor is being concreted. The additional hoppers are now in course of 'construction for the reception of quartz, and a large number of hands are employed on the various works. The tender of Mr W. Hetherington has been accepted for carting, machinery, mils, etc., to the Champion Gold and Silver Mines, Tui, and tenders close on this dny week for the carrying out of extensive works on the Co's property. Some particulars with respect to Mr Parkes, and the erection of liis furnaces at Tui, will be found under another heading in our columns to day. We understand that the recent assays of tho Montezunia ore made by Mr J. A. Pond, were of a very satisfactory character, tho stone tested producing a large peicontnge of gold. The contract for tho formation of a 30ft drive has been completed, from which some good ore has come to hand. Mr Thoa. Quoi, one of the proprietors, is expected to arrive to-day, and further driving will probably be commenced nt an curly ante.
