I/awry,' ( Secretary),- Messrs UotVLipsey, -Heathcote, 'WdjM^nzies/ In the abi senceof Rev Jas. lilarshall/( Chairman of Committee), Mr Ilott* was voted to the* chair.- Minutes of the previous monthly meeting, and also of special meeting held on 16th ult., were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the, Board of Education, acknowledging receipt, of a letter from- the Committee, conveying their approval of the proposed appointment of Miss Hould as assistant teacher t (vice Mrs Marsdon, resigned), and stating the Board had made the appointment. The usual monthly certificates were read from the head teacher, Number on roll for September, 152 ; average attendance, 122.3. (For August the numbers were 154, average attendance 107.1). Satisfaction was expressed at the marked improvement as regards average attendance. Michrelmas holidays were observed from Sept. 22nd to 29th. The Visiting Committee reported having attended to some small matters in connection with the school ground, etc. The Secretary was requested to apply to the Board of Education for a' table and four chairs, needed for the school. Rev S, Lawry requested permission to withdraw, for the present, his notice of motion re introduction of Richardson's Temperance Lesson Book. The following accounts were passed for payment : — Mrs Griffiths, cleaning, etc., £1 13s 4d ; P. Dillon, making watertable, digging round shrubs, etc., etc., in grounds, £1 2s,
