A STRANGE CASE.
Wellington, Sept. 5. Ax extraordinary state of things was reA^ealed ab an inquest this morning on the body of Terence Gormley, found drowned yesterday. A married woman stated that as &he was going along the reclaimed land between 7 and T 8 on Monday night, she saw a man walk along the breastwork and disappear. She at once stopped.' and was about to give the alarm when she became terrified' at meeting 1 another man. ' She was afraid he was going to speak to her and she hurried on. She met two women afterwards, but as the} r were drunk shekel id not speak to them and she hurried off home.*'" • ''That morning tho body of Gormley was -found clo.°e to the spot in" queslon.'
