Thames, Sept. 5. New ALbubnia. — The crushing of 19 loads of quartz and 1001b picked stone has been finishod for 1920z amalgam, which", however, has nob yet been reported. This will produce about 70oz of gold. Nkw Discovery. — A native who has arrived in town states that he has found a new lode sonio distance beyond Whangaraata, which gave good dish px*ospects of gold. Very little importance, however, is attnehed to the discovery. New Pjmncf liui'HKTAi,. — Crushing; is proceeding 1 , but tho quartz is not shaping very well. The return will be to hand on Thursday. In the mino, colours of gold are been in the stopes in the western end every time the leader is broken down, but no picked stone is obtained. No gold is observed in the quartz coming to hand from tho stopes on this leader in the eastern end, and the good rib of quartz is now very Small, being only 6 or 8 inchos wide. The ore from this mine is now under offer to the AskhamMolloy people at the Thames, and, it being free milling ore, should give grand results.. Golden Spur.— This seam adjoins the Hidden Treasure mine, and is now being prospected by two miners sent from Auckland. Jt is rumoured about that a rich reef has been found in the ground, but nothing authoritative is yet to hand.
