FIRE NEAR WAITARA.
Nk-v\ Plymouth, August 23. The residence of F. Hoone at Waihi, fco the north of Waihira, was burnt down morning. Mrs Hoone had been trimming a kerosene lamp and lighted it Lo s>ee if it burnt pioporiy, when it accidentally g-ot knocked over. The oil spread and bet tire to the room. She tried to bubdue the flames, but failed and the house was burnt to the giound. Insurances ; Building, £200 in "the Norwich Union ollice. Furniture : C 250 in the South British. Very little was saved
