THE FEDERATED AMMUNITION FACTORY.
Albuky, Tuesday. A public meeting of ratepayers was held ab the Town-hall for the purpose of receiving the report of the deputation appointed to interview the Colonial Secretaiy respecting the establishment of a federal small arms and ammunition factory at Aibury. After the members of the deputation had given an account of their interview, which in effect was that Sir Henry Parkes highly favoured Aibury as a site, and would recommend it as his selection when the matter was under the consideration of the Government, the meeting was addressed by several citizens. It was unanimously resolved " That an invitation be sent to Captain Whitney to visit Aibury so as to satisfy himself as to its suitability for the establishment of the factories proposed by him ; and that the invitation be sent through the borough Council."
