Government has decided to close Parliament about, the middle of August. There will be no full session. Balfour will introduce a bill extending 1 the operation of the Ashbonrne Act, including provisions to enable the Land Commissioners to continue operation?. The libel suit of Jockey Wood against the London "Licensed Victualler's Gazette,"' which accused him of pulling horses, ended on June 2Sth, with an award of one farthing to the plaintiff. The amount Micd for was £5000. This case was an outgrowth of the famous contest between Lord Durham and Sir George Chetwynd. Clark, also of the Manhattin, won the 7-mile walk. Rev. George Trevor, author ot many theological works, died in London June SO. Dr. Martineau, a leading Unitarian, recehed the degree of Doctor of Laws from Uxfoid on June 20th.
THE ZULU "WAR. AUmning advices from the Cape were received in London on June *2flth. All the available troops at Natal were ordered to proceed immediately to Zululand, as an outbreak is feared among the Zulus. The=e report s> aie corroborated by despatches of .lune 30th. Zulus are gatheiing in formidable numbers. All the troops in Natal are ordeied to the frontier, and messages ha\e been received by the War Department asking immediate reinforcement?. Oiders have been sent to Cape Town, and the Royal Scots Regiment with Artilleiy, eighteen officers, horses, and mpplies for the voyage, embarked for Natal on the 30th. The immediate cause of the outbreak is not stated. Trouble lias been brewing for a long time. A VAST TERRITORIAL ACCESSION. A despatch from London, June 6th, bays that within a few days the British Government has added to its possessions the immense tract extending from Zanzibar northwards as far as Abyssinia, with a seaboard over 1,700 mites in length, and people J by seventy millions of inhabitants.
