The appeal of Dillon against judgment under the Crimes Act was decided against him on June 19th, and his &entence"of -X months' imprisonment confirmed. Dillon protested on the ground that his appeal was tried without a jury and no evidence was called. Mr Condon, M. P., was released from faol. in Cork, on June 20th. Father Gilligan, who was ti ied under the Coercion Act on a charge of attending a proclaimed meeting, was, on the 21t!t June, adjudged guilty by a Dublin Coin t, and sentenced to imprisonment. On June 27th, 100 constables, so\on emergency men and a magistrate evicted Farmer Mooney ac TUthdi urn. it was a desperate affair. The farmer and his friends made stubborn resistance, and used boiling porridge on the a-sailants. Theie were ten arrests. The comipg rescript of the Tope on the Irish question will maintain absolute neutrality on all political questions. Fitzgerald, a Parnelhte, was elected on June 30th, without opposition, to nil the vacant seat in the Commons for County Longford.
