TRACK TO TAIRUA GOLDFIELD.
Mr Cadman has represented to fche Minis tei for Lands that the money already expended on the track from Puriri to Tairua will be utterly wasted unless the track be continued towards the mines and batteries on the Tairua diggings, and Mr Richardson luib given instructions to the Assistant Surveyor - General (Mr fc>. Percy Smith) to expend a further sum of two hundred pound on this work in order that the residents may receive the benotit originally intended when the work was taken in hand. The fruitgrowers of Wellington district are agitating for an increase of the duty on fruit. Mr Pykjß is endeavouring to arrange a deputation to the Premier, but the matter is delayed owing to the Premier's indisposition.
