Pegging out is still the order of the tiny, both at To Arolin, Tui and Waiorongomai. The following applications vwll l>e found advertised in to-days issue :- Special Claim, fifty acres, Te Aroha, by C. 11. Tonge and P. Faes ; Special Claim, thirty acres, Wuiorongnmai, by .T. Frater. Licensed Holding, five acres, "Waiorongotnai, by LL. 11. Adams, (giound formally hold by the Werahiko G.M. Co.) ; 1 licensed Holding, nineteen acres, Waiorongomai, by J. M'Cosh Clarke, (land formerly owned by the "NVaiorongomai G.M. Co.) ; Licensed Holding Waiorongoniai, thirty acres, by Max Friedlander ; Licensed Holding. Waioronsoniai, thiity acies, by Mhx Friedlander ; Licensed Holding, Tui, thirty acres, by E. "\V. Hannier ; Licensed Holding, Tui, thiity acres, by 1). J. Frazer and .Jos. Staeey ; Licensed Holding, Wniorongomai, fifteen acres, by T. G. Warlow. The discovery in the Colonist mine referred to in these columns, has had the effect of causing a demand for shares, many people during the week have been asked, " Have you any Colonist's ? " an interrogation that has not been put fora length of time before. Holdeis however, having stuck to their scrip so far, do not appear to care to part with them, but prefer awaiting further development?. At the mine four men are cngeged in following up the discovery blasting holes in the Heio reef, where this recent discoveiy of rcfiactoiy ore was made The quartz broken out has a very kindly appeal auce for both silver and "gold, and also contains a large amount of copper and lead. In the Kow Find mine work is being steadily pushed ahead, opening up the mine in all parts. Tho cross-cut in the Silver King claim is also being pushed on with, and the country being passed through is of a very kindly nature. Prospecting operations are in full swing in the Canadian ground, and also in the property recently acquired by the Te Aroha S. and G.M. Co., ( formerly known as Firth's Special Claim). The work of constructing the water race will be gone on with as speedily as possible, and tenders are now invited for No. 1 section of the work. Altogether mining matters arc pretty lively.
