Take a sirand ef engine packing or rope y ftr n — knot it every four inches or so. When the ehargo of dynamite is to be fired, tako one of these pieces of packing, soak it in turpentine and place it under the fuse. Light it and you will have no miss shots. It will be found after the shot is fired that the turpentine destroys the fumes of the dynamite, and thus men can work Avithout an attack of headache ; also kills blow flies. —Mr Thos.
