Cruchfield and Rivulet were the first on their feet, the next being St. Clair and Beresiord, whilo Salisbury and Falconet were slow to move, and were ; some lengths away. Cruchfield made tho running, closely attended by Rivulet, with Beresford next. These positions were maintained until coming into the straight for the run home, where Rivulet fell away, leaving ( Beresford to, fight bub the;issue with Cruchn'old, but the result was heVor in doubfc, as the favourite won, untouched by , the whip, by a good length from Beresford, j who secured a place irom Salisbury by )
