What Froude Says.
Froude, the historian is out in a letter, November 15, in which he says: — "Any form of self-government which might be conceded to the Irish people, whether local Councils or Parliament, will be used to increasoEngland'sdifncultyinkeepinsr Ireland attacl'cd to the kingdom. The Irish can be governed more easily than any other people in the world under military or quasi-mili-tary rule. The police aro uniformly faithful and loyal. England has never yet succeeded in governing Ireland constitutionally and nc\Ci-"will."
