A Bankrupt Clergyman.
An application was made in Chambers Supreme Court, Adelaide, last week before Judge Boucaut, for the release of William Radecliff, the New Zealand clergyman, charged w itli committing a breach of Now Zealand bankruptcy Jaws and with being a fugitive fiom that colony. His Honor had previously discharged Radclifie on the ground that the police magistrate had no power to remand him for three weeks, but the defendant was re-arrested on a provisional warrant. Judge Boucant again released him, holding that the second warrant had no force, as the magistrate had exceeded his powers in the first case.
