An Extraordinary Storm.
A furious storm visited Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, on July 17th. It raged about an hour, and the wind was terrific, accompanied by heavy thunder, lightning and hail. The latter consisted of lumps of ice as large us half-a-dollnr on the face, but three times as thick, with edges as keen as a razor. They mowed the crops and cut the leaven and twigs from the trees into million.-} of pieces, making the air quite black. A tremendous storm swept over Uiit and Wood counties, Virginia, on July 21st, doing great damage. At Roekport, in the latter county, where a large circus and menagerie were showing, the tent was laised from the ground and boine out of ;-ight, while a mad panic seized the spectators, who trampled over each other in their mad haste to reach places of safety.
