(VIA SAN FRANCISCO.) Earthquake and Volcanic Outburst.

A tremendous earthquake, occurring about the middle of May, had destroyed the town of Bachuachi, a town twenty miles from Bavispe, which wag visited in a similar manner recently. The despatches from Mexico givo details of the disaster, which was frightful. The town was obliter ated, but the 1,200 inhabitants managed to escape with their lives by fleeing 1 when the disturbances at Bavispe commenced. The topography of the country is changed in many places. Precipitous mountains have beun toppled over, and a largo area of the plain has been sunk below its former level. Fissures appeared everywheie emitting hot mud and boiling water. Baelwachi stood on the river bank, and was located about 180 miles southeast of Tucson, Arizona, in the Mexican State of Senora, which overlooks thcCulf of California. Twenty miles honth of Bachuachi a portion of the crust of the main range of mountains fell in, and a hot- water geyser of vast volume has been playing from a huge aperture ever since, accompanied by tremendous roaring. Advices of Juno 30 from OJayaquil, Ecuador, say that on the day previous the severest eai bhquakc .since 1859 was expeiienccd. Great damage was done to the city.
