Battery Returns. — The U3ual monthly clean up and retort (to August Gth) took place on Monday last ; tno result being 238 ounces retorted gold from 520 trucks crushed for the Now Find . The battery is now running 35 head for New Find and 5 for May Queon ; all berdnns being engaged on tailings for the Battery Company. There is nothing of importance to chronicle vrith respect to the work progressing in any of the mines.
GOLD DEPOSIT NEAR MORRINBVILLE Messrs G. Fraser and Son, Auokland report as follows on a small sample of a deposit found on the estate of Mr A. W. Orubbins, Papakanui, Morrinsville, and which in many respects is very similar to that foilnd on Mr «T. B. Smiths estate.
